I quit my job at Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and with some leave pay, drove a van around New Zealand for a couple of weeks with my friend Monique. This was my first real backpacking trip. I packed way too much, spent too much and traveled too fast. I kind of based my flights stupidly too, and took like 9 flights to and from Kuala Lumpur.
